Warren County Arrest Leads to Major Drug Bust with Connections in Prince William
A large scale joint operation has netted one Front Royal resident on numerous felony drug and weapons charges. According to Chief Norman Shiflett, Ronnie Maurice Jones age 36 of Front Royal, was arrested and is being held in the Warren County Jail without bond on numerous criminal charges including: Possession of a Controlled Substance With Intent to Distribute, Possession of a Firearm While In Possession of a Schedule I or II narcotic, and Possession of a Firearm By Convicted Felon.
The arrest stemmed from a joint operation conducted by the Northwestern Virginia Regional Drug Task Force consisting of teams from: Front Royal/Warren County, Shenandoah County, and Page County, along with Rockingham, Harrisonburg, and State Police (RUSH) Drug Task Force and ATF.
Police say Jones was initially arrested for Distribution of Heroin on Wednesday June 12, 2013. However the arrest steered investigators into executing four search warrants in Front Royal, Shenandoah and Prince William Counties, where large amounts of heroin, crack cocaine, firearms, and undisclosed amount of U.S. currency was seized.
